Our commitment
My Study Sets is a small, independently built study app. We want it to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who rely on a keyboard, a screen reader, or other assistive technology. Accessibility is something we actively work on, not a box we've checked once and moved on from.
Conformance status
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. This app has not been formally audited by an outside accessibility firm; this statement reflects our own good-faith review, not a certified conformance report.
What we've done
- Semantic HTML and labeled form fields throughout sign-in, sign-up, and every study mode.
- Full keyboard support for studying: flashcards, oral practice, and practice tests can each be completed entirely from the keyboard, with an in-app shortcuts reference in every mode.
- Visible focus states on interactive elements, and touch-friendly tap targets on mobile.
- A light and dark theme, including support for your device's system-level preference.
- A layout that reflows and stays usable when browser text size is increased.
Known limitations
- The optional Dodge and Snake mini-games are fast-paced, visual, canvas-based games and are not accessible to screen readers. They're optional rewards, not required to use any study feature.
- We've checked text color contrast against WCAG's ratios throughout the app and fixed every gap we found, but this was our own manual review, not a certified audit, so there may be combinations we missed.
- Some interactive elements (e.g. correct/incorrect answer highlighting) use color as one signal alongside text and icons, never as the only one.
Feedback
If you run into an accessibility barrier anywhere in this app, we'd like to know. Once signed in, use "Send feedback" in Settings to tell us what you were trying to do and what happened, and we'll do our best to fix it.
