The app has grown a lot. Here's everything it can do today.
New: Recently deleted, and folders that do more
- Recently deleted: a set or quiz you delete waits there for 30 days, so you can restore it (or tap Undo right after). Find it in the ⋯ menu on your library. After 30 days it's removed for good.
- Delete a folder and choose what happens to what's inside: keep the sets (they move to your main list) or delete them too. If the folder was shared, its link stops working.
- Move and merge: tap Select on your library to move several sets or quizzes into a folder at once, or open a folder and choose "Merge into another folder." Renaming a folder to a name you already use merges them (after asking first).
- Download a whole folder for offline with one tap, and Select → Save offline for any group of sets. Sets saved on your device are marked "On this device."
- Search inside your cards: the search box on your library also finds terms and definitions, for any set saved on your device.
New: Notes, pictures and pins
- Add a note to any set or quiz. Open it, tap Edit, and write what it covers or what to focus on. The note shows at the top of the set and goes along when you share, duplicate, or convert it.
- Add a picture to any card or quiz question: a diagram, a chart, an instrument panel. Pick one when you add or edit a card. It shows with the term while you study (tap it to enlarge in Learn, Test and quizzes), and it goes along when you share or duplicate a set.
- Pin your own sets, quizzes and folders to the top of your library with the 📍 button. Your pins are just for you, and you can unpin any time.
New: Sign in with Google, and sets ↔ quizzes
- Continue with Google on the sign in and sign up pages. If you already have an account with the same email, Google opens that same account with all your sets. In Settings you can see how you sign in, connect Google, or add a password to a Google account.
- Make a quiz from any set: each card becomes a multiple choice question, with wrong choices pulled from your other cards. Choose whether to ask the term or the definition, and how many choices each question has.
- Make a set from any quiz: each question becomes a card, with the correct answer as the definition. Either way you get a new copy and the original stays as it was.
New: Quizzes Quiz
When you tap + New, you can now pick Quiz instead of Set to build real multiple choice questions, each with 2 to 6 answer choices and one correct answer.
- Paste a whole question bank at once: a question on one line, each choice on its own line, a * in front of the right answer, and a blank line between questions. Add a reference number like [8293.1] at the start of a question to keep it in the title. You see a preview and any problems before anything is saved.
- Add, edit, delete, and reorder questions one at a time, too.
- Take quiz: one question at a time with instant right or wrong, optional shuffling of questions and answer choices, a score at the end, and a button to retry just the ones you missed. Pick how answers work: reveal right away, pick and press Check, or keep trying until you find the right one. There's also a timed exam mode with no feedback until you finish.
- Fast learn: pick a section size, like 10 questions. They keep coming back until you get each one right 3 times in a row, then move on to the next section whenever you're ready. Your progress is saved as you go, so you can leave and pick up right where you left off.
- Each quiz remembers your recent scores and shows the questions you miss most.
- Share a quiz with a code, just like a set. Whoever enters it gets their own copy, and sharing a folder now includes the quizzes in it too.
Five ways to study a set
Every set can be studied as Flashcards, Oral practice (say the answer out loud, then check yourself), a Practice test, Term Match (race the clock), or Learn mode, which cycles multiple choice and typed recall until you've mastered every term.
Showdown, live group games
Host a Showdown from any set or quiz and have others join with a code. Everyone plays at once with a shared, real-time leaderboard.
One code for everything
"Enter a code" works for a shared set, quiz, or folder, a live Showdown, a Study Jam, or a friend's personal code, no need to remember which kind of code you were given.
Friends & a study streak
Add friends with your own permanent code (find it on the Friends page, in the menu), and see a leaderboard of how many terms and quiz questions each of you has studied this week, plus everyone's current streak. 🔥 Study on consecutive days to build your own streak, shown right on the home page.
Study Jams
Start a friends-only competition on one set or quiz, for a few days or a month, your choice. Everyone earns 10 points per term or quiz question studied, and 60 for a term fully learned in Learn mode or a question learned in Fast learn, on a live, updating leaderboard.
Folders & organization
Group related sets into folders (and move, merge, or delete them as needed), combine several sets into one study session, and set a countdown to an exam or test date so the app can remind you what's due. A countdown can include both sets and quizzes, with one tap to study them.
Print & study offline
Print any set, optionally limited to just the terms you've flagged, for studying away from a screen.
A short break, built in
A couple of quick arcade games (Dodge and Snake) are tucked in as an optional breather between study sessions.
Small things that add up
- A new home at mystudysets.com. Old links still work.
- Study reminder emails if you haven't opened the app in a week, at most once a week. Turn them off in Settings under Email.
- Delete your account any time: Settings → Account → Delete account. It removes your sets and everything else for good.
- Light and dark themes.
- Keyboard shortcuts, press ? anywhere in the app to see them.
- Anonymous feedback, right from Settings, if something's broken or missing.
